Mark Harniss, Ph.D. is a Senior Research Scientist at the Center for Technology and Disability Studies and Clinical Associate Professor in Rehabilitation Medicine. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Oregon in Special Education and a Master’s degree in Instructional Technology from Utah State University. His research interests focus on the design and development of instructional and assistive technologies. Currently, he is working on several projects including Project ACCESS, a NIDRR funded development project focused on developing assisted cognition devices; the Model Systems Knowledge Translation Center and the University of Washington Center on Outcomes Research in Rehabilitation. Prior to arriving at UWCTDS, Dr. Harniss worked as a faculty member in Education at Northern Illinois University and the University of Washington, Tacoma.
