Resources
Faculty and staff at UWCTDS have participated in the development of several useful resources related to assistive technology and accessible information technology. These resources are typically stored on our project pages. Below we have listed a few of our most popular resources.
Assistive Technology
- The WATA Bulletin is a quarterly publication that covers legal issues relevant to the funding, acquisition or use of adaptive technology and provides legislative updates on disability issues.
- Paying for the Assistive Technology You Need: A Consumer Guide to Funding Sources in Washington State provides a comprehensive overview of funding sources, tips, and strategies.
- The Assistive Technology Forum (Wash-AT) is an electronic discussion forum. It is a useful resource for learning about new and existing technology, networking, and discussing disability issues.
- AT Match is an online database for the exchange, sale, and donation of assistive technology devices (also called adaptive technology). The purpose of this electronic marketplace is to link a person or an agency that has an assistive technology device that they no longer need with someone who can use it to increase their independence, quality of life and/or level of participation in work, school, home, and recreation.
Accessible Information Technology
- The AccessIT Knowledge Base is database of articles that address common questions regarding accessible information technology in education.
