Model Systems Knowledge Translation Center (MSKTC)
UW Department of Rehabilitation Medicine and the Center for Technology and Disability Studies in the Center for Human Development and Disability received a 5 year grant from the U.S. Department of Education's National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research to create the Model Systems Knowledge Translation Center (MSKTC). Dr. Kurt Johnson, director of UWCTDS, is the principal investigator.
The MSKTC will facilitate the dissemination of research to practice and consumer education for the model systems programs in traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury and burn injury. The MSKTC knowledge translation and dissemination efforts will focus on research conducted by the model systems programs, identified best practices and clinician and consumer education materials developed by model systems. The MSKTC will also conduct systematic reviews of key areas of rehabilitation research relevant to the model systems projects.
