Meeting the Need

Meeting the Need: An assessment of the capacity of families to provide the necessary supports to their family members with developmental disabilities is funded by the Arc of Washington Trust Fund. Using an in-depth case studies design and the Support Intensity Scale, project staff Pat Brown and Sherrie Brown will provide policymakers and key stakeholders a snapshot of current support needs for families with a member with developmental disabilities living at home and the families’ capacity to provide these supports. The examination of family capacity will include: formal and informal family and community supports, family income, insurance and expenditures related to providing support for their family member with developmental disabilities.
